2014 is winding to a close, and so today we wanted to take the time to share some news with you and pull back the curtain on what’s been happening behind the scenes at Vibrant Voice Technique. Here’s what’s up:
Vibrant Voice takes NYC!:
I’m very excited to share that I’ll be relocating from Edmonton to New York City this January. I will of course still be fulfilling all of my duties as Managing Director, which thanks to the wonders of modern technology will not be difficult. My location change means that beginning in 2015, in-person Vibrant Voice sessions and workshops will be offered in New York. So if you’re in the city or have friends who are, please spread the word! Our first NYC workshop will be Saturday January 31st. Hold the date if you can make it, and we’ll have more information and registration available soon.
I’m leaving Alberta this week to drive home to California for the holidays, so here’s a selfie of David and I since we won’t see each other in person again until February at the Vocalize U Winter Retreat in LA
For the past three weeks, we’ve been collecting data in a pilot study with the Speech Pathology department at the University of Alberta. A number of the Speech Pathology masters students are serving as our subjects, and another group makes up our excellent research team. We look forward to compiling the acoustic and survey data in the first half of 2015 and releasing a report from this study.
Progress also continues on the development of our custom made voice vibrator, and we’re very enthused with the direction we’re headed. It’s too early to share the details, but we look forward to having a prototype in the first half of 2015. Stay tuned!
We’ve been having a blast working with clients from all over the world in our workshops and one-on-one sessions online. Our greatest joy in sharing this technique is hearing feedback from happy people about how it has eased their vocal stress and made it more pleasurable to speak and sing. We will continue to offer regular workshops and ongoing private coaching – see the upcoming schedule below. It is also still on the docket to publish the How-To Guide and develop video training, and once we have a device and more research in place we will focus on rolling out these other training materials. (In the meantime, we do also offer a draft of the How-To Guide included in all of our training).
NEW: The Instructor Program starts this April!:
In order to offer more in-depth instruction to fellow voice teachers and professionals, we are excited to announce the inaugural session of the Vibrant Voice Instructor Program. The Instructor Program will be held online on the four Saturdays in April. We will share more information in the new year, but in the meantime if participating in this program is of interest to you, please email us to let us know.
Vibrant Voice in LA too!
In February, we will be traveling to Los Angeles to teach in the Vocalize U Winter Retreat! We are thrilled to have been asked to participate in this exciting event, and we look forward to working with this wonderful group of artists.
The topic of our next free Q&A call is “Amp Up Your Warm Up” and it’s happening on Saturday January 10th at 11am mountain. RSVP here.
Our next Learn Vibrant Voice online workshop will be on two consecutive Sundays at the end of January:
Day 1: Sunday January 25 from 12pm-2:30pm mountain time
Day 2: Sunday February 1 from 12pm-2:30pm mountain time
Registration is open, so if you want to be sure to snag a spot you can register here.
Thanks for reading and happy holidays from Vibrant Voice!
Elissa and David
